Trust as a Building Block for Stability in Uncertain Times

Pillar 1: Trust & Belief

Merriam-Webster defines trust as “to rely on the truthfulness or accuracy of; to place confidence in; to hope or expect confidently.” Belief - Is “something that is accepted, considered true, or held as an opinion.”

In practical terms: trust is confidence — in yourself, in others, in your systems. It’s trusting your gut, believing in your vision, and knowing that even if today is a mess, you’ve got what it takes to clean it up (eventually… maybe after some coffee).

Trust is an essential building block for stability and peace.

As a Believer in Jesus Christ, I place my trust in Him in all things, in all ways, and at all times. My trust in Him brings me peace.

As a mom and business owner, I am constantly making decisions. Without belief in Jesus and myself, those decisions become a minefield of second-guessing and stress. I then start overanalyzing everything, crowd-sourcing answers, or just freezing in place like a Zoom user with a connection issue.

That is why I believe trust is the first building block when creating or maintaining stability and having some certainty.

In business, trust in yourself allows you to market your services with confidence. It helps you make bold choices, stick to your vision, and keep moving forward — even when the results are slow to show up.

As a parent, trusting yourself means you can actually ‘let go’ sometimes. You can lean on your village — your partner, your support system, even your kids — instead of trying to do it all. And in doing so, you model trust and resilience for your children. You get to parent from calm and clarity, not guilt and fear.

Let’s consider a real-life scenario:

Have you ever had to travel for work or stay late for a project? Think back to that time. Consider the impact on your family.

What made it okay to leave your kids with someone else?

Now consider your work -

What helped you choose the right person to represent your brand or be the key point person with the big important client?

How did you answer this question?

  • Was it the person you left your kids or client with that you trusted?

  • Was it yourself that you had trust? Because you knew no matter what, you could handle whatever could possibly happen.

  • Maybe it was the system or routine you established before leaving that you were able to place your confidence and trust

Think back to that time.

How did you feel while you were gone? Did you feel anxious or at peace? Why did you feel that way?

Would you agree it-

It all comes back to trust. Not blind trust, but grounded belief — even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.

So here’s a question to ask yourself:

What would I do differently today if I fully trusted myself?

If you are a Believer, maybe you can ask yourself:

What would I do differently today if I fully trusted God?

Now consider:

Which is easier for you and why?

Nice work!
